I come to my mat because it is the daily nudge I need to remind myself of the essential elements — love, compassion, playfulness, authenticity -- I want to manifest in life off of the mat. I believe that we need fun and lightness, as well as opportunities to be thoughtfully and inwardly reflective. Living an intentional life requires developing a flexible and contextual set of tools that can help heal and inspire our bodies as much as our souls, and build awareness in navigating our emotions. For me, yoga provides support in all of these aspects.
With a background in dance, team sports and marathon finishes, I initially sought out yoga for its benefits to balance my physical body. It wasn’t long before my yoga practice brought to life the mind-body-soul connection I had always felt but hadn’t been able to articulate. My practice reflects a love of physicality and movement while challenging the mind to be present and shift out of habits that no longer serve to reveal new expressions for the soul.
Drawing from experience as a daughter, wife, mother, sister, 9-to-5’er, massage therapist, youth coach, marathoner, mental health warrior, global citizen, and yogi, my practice is rooted in Vinyasa yoga with a focus on offering to meet you however you come to the mat.
