KindRootedMindful (KRM — which also happen to be my initials!) has grown out of my lovely, messy, joyful, painful, wondrous, heart-breaking, heart-felt, contemplative, impulsive, serendipitous, anxiety-inducing, grace-filled, and countless undefinable life moments. With lessons learned from mistakes and missed opportunities, reflections on redefining the role and weight of expectations, and comfort, gratitude and confidence found in being able to live out shared values within various relationships, I have developed an appreciation and respect for the deep work involved in living an intentional life.
I am grateful for the wisdom and kindness of my many teachers, both formal and informal — clients, student-athletes, mentors, and colleagues. They planted the seeds for curiosity, courage and surrender to take root and believed in me even when I felt I lacked clarity or destination, and reminded me to trust my intuition and to be and experience all of life’s inbetween moments. Each one of them have made possible a world of beautiful connections.
As a yoga teacher, end of life doula, and hospital chaplain, the foundation of my work is to listen to the goals and values of each client, and to bring a nuanced and wholistic approach to the engagement. I look to establish connections in ways that build trust, safety and a sense of compassion, in turn supporting others in discovering and expressing their most authentic self.
After 15 years as a yoga practitioner, I enhanced my experience and completed yoga teacher training at Laughing Lotus (now Lotusland) in 2018, and earned the It’s Yoga Kids certification in 2023. I am an Accredited Interscholastic Coach through the National Federation of State High School Associations coaching youth sports at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, and have partnered with Empower Me Academy providing youth yoga instruction. I also completed end of life doula training with the International End of Life Doula Association in 2020, and the Certified End of Life Specialist (CEOLS) training with Teaching Transitions in 2023, and have offered time as a hospice volunteer. In addition, I have crafted a 25+ year career in the nonprofit sector, and currently serve as a Chaplain Resident at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center.
